LitMatch was created to help writers and agents connect with each other more effectively. In order to serve both sides
of that equation, we go out of our way to ensure that our information is accurate and present it in a way that is useful
and responsible. We also take pains to protect your privacy, and work with you to customize your profile to serve your
professional needs.
What can LitMatch do for you?
LitMatch users do their homework before they send out their submissions. For the literary agent, this means fewer
"unwanted" queries for projects that don’t suit your current needs, which translates to smaller slushpiles and more
time for the submissions that mean the most to you. We also provide detailed information about your submissions
policies alongside your contact information, so you get the materials you want, the way you want them.
How does LitMatch compile your profile?
Our literary agent and agency profiles are compiled from various freely available sources in print and online. We also
rely on tips from our users in order to keep our information as up-to-date as possible. But, in order for our listings
to be complete and accurate, we need your feedback. To update your profile, just send us a note at
tips@litmatch.net with the changes you want made. Be sure to include a way to
contact you so that we can confirm your identity. Don’t have a listing yet? We can take care of that, too. Just write
us with your information and we’ll post it as soon as it can be confirmed.
How does LitMatch protect your privacy?
LitMatch takes the privacy of the agents in our listings very seriously. We never trade or sell our listee information
to anyone. All public comments made by our users are screened for potentially libelous or inflammatory language before
they are allowed to appear on our site. We also take steps to protect your email address from spammers by only allowing
it to be seen by our registered users and encoding it to keep it hidden from automated web crawling programs. If you see
something in your profile that you consider private or sensitive, for whatever reason, LitMatch will remove it upon
